Just a little bit about me – I am a mom to two boys – a crazy 3 year old and gorgeous 6 month old who amaze me every day. I am a creative person who enjoys learning to look at the world in new ways. For as long as I can remember I’ve loved photography. I can remember shooting tons artsy pictures with disposable cameras as a kid and driving my parents crazy begging to get all the film developed. Then in June 2006 I got my first DSLR – a Nikon D50. It was my absolute dream camera at the time and I had so much fun with it. Since then I have upgraded several times, but I still use Nikon.
But more important than all the equipment in the world is that I love what I do! I feel so blessed to meet new people all the time and get to know them while I am working. One of my favorite feelings in the world is when a client becomes a friend.

On another note, I am going to my sister’s fashion show in Dallas tonight! I am so excited. She’s a design student at the Art Institute and she has two of her pieces in the show. I’ve never been to a fashion show before. The best part – the students are required to design all of their clothes in my size, so she actually made them for me! Yep, I have my own personal designer. hehe.
This is my son Benjamin. He’s 19 months old, and he’s so much fun. He has always been a very vocal kid, and I just love that he repeats everything he hears. It’s so funny 19 months ago, he was this tiny helpless baby who wouldn’t even eat without putting up a fight. Now he uses 2-3 word phrases to tell me exactly what he wants/needs, and even adds a “peeease?” at the end (well, usually).
I love that when he drops a piece of food on the floor he will yell, “I dop it!” over and over until I pick it up and throw it away. Like any toddler, Ben wants consistency in his life. He wants all his toys to be in the same predictable place in his room, and he wants all the doors closed in the house. He wants to eat as soon as he gets up in the morning, and he wants to help me check the mail every afternoon. I love that I can fulfill his needs in such simple ways at this time in his life.

Today was a welcome break from 4 days of cold rain. It was the perfect day for an engagement session. I met up with Amanda and Benjamin at the Dallas Arboretum and had a great time getting to know them. I absolutely love getting to know my clients during engagement and bridal sessions. It makes shooting the wedding so much more fun and personal!

These two cuties’ mommy has been a friend of mine since we were kids. They live in Houston, so we don’t get to hang out very often. I had such a great time seeing them last friday! We started out with a few studio shots and then moved to North Lakes Park in Denton. That is such a fun place to play!
