I thought I would make an informative blog entry on this, since most of the brides I speak with are on a tight budget and choose me because of my affordability.
Making sure you find the right photographer for you:
1. Define what style of photos you want! If you don’t know what style you want, you are going to have a tough time narrowing down photographers. Decide if you want traditional, artsy, or candid photography for your wedding. I am a very candid photographer. I do post process each of my images in Photoshop, but I do not apply a great deal of artistic effects. If you want something like that, then there are a lot of other photographers that I can suggest!
2. Define your budget and know what you can get for your money. You are not going to be able to get a $5000 photographer for $695. That’s just not the way it works. I can help you if you are on a tight budget, but I do not want you to hire me for that reason alone. I want you to choose me because you like my work! If you hire me for my price instead of my work, you are going to be nothing but disappointed in the end.
3. Look at your photographer’s portfolio and look again and again! Did I mention you should look at your photographer’s portfolio?! Before you decide, you should view an entire wedding from start to finish and decide if the photographer can really meet your needs. If you would like to look at any of my full wedding galleries, please contact me through my website.
4. Meet with each potential photographer in person and decide if his or her personality fits your own! This is also very important. Many people want someone who will be super outgoing and spunky. Others want someone who will blend in and capture the day like a fly on the wall. It is your choice, so find someone who has the personality that you desire.
Thank you for reading this post! I wish you the best of luck in finding the perfect wedding photographer for your needs!
